List of Improvements Made in 2013 Replaced patio sliding doors with Pella triple-pane, wood clad doors with between-the-glass blinds. These are energy-efficient, provide maximum reduction of exterior noise, and look great. No window treatments needed on these sliders. Built a wall around the old wood burning fireplace. The electric fireplace is very energy efficient, clean, and usable even on "no burn" days. A dedicated electric circuit provides extra power for entertainment equipment. Replaced the four Romanesque columns around the living room with three narrow, weight bearing posts. This dramatically updates the look of this open space. Replaced all recessed light fixtures with energy-efficient LED fixtures. Also replaced most of the corresponding switches with dimmer switches for added efficiency and control of light levels. Replaced carpeting in living room and all three bedrooms with high-quality manufactured wood. This provides an elegant and modern look to the house. It has an anti-scratch finish, is easy to clean, is free of allergens. Updated sagging wooden closet interiors with adjustable rods, shelves, and drawers in all closets except the master walk-in closet. Added adjustable rods and shelves to the laundry room for added storage and hanging space. Added a light kit to the overhead fan in bedroom 3. Added a new electric circuit to serve bedrooms 2 and 3. This provides additional power for computers and office equipment. Repainted interior walls and ceilings in the living room, dining room, and all three bedrooms.
